“CROSS MY HEART AND HOPE TO DIE…” Have you ever noticed how weird some of our childhood sayings were? For example, if you were making a promise and wanted to emphasize that you would keep your promise, you might say, “cross my heart and hope to die, stick a needle in my eye.” What a strange thing to say! Stranger still is the etymology of the saying and the entirety of the poem! (Look it up sometime!) Promises are important. But they are only as good as the one making the promise and their ability to deliver what they have promised. God makes a LOT of promises in His Word. And HE is able to deliver on every one of them. I intend to look at these promises one-by-one over the next few months. I hope to see you soon! I PROMISE you will be glad you did!
