I have always been fascinated with miracles. I imagine you have, too. I used to have the idea that miracles were performed throughout the entire Bible, however, I learned that there were a relatively few times when they were prevalent; otherwise, they were not the norm. Miracles were evident during Moses’ contests with Pharaoh, during the times of Elijah and Elisha, during Jesus’ earthly ministry, and will be evident during the times of the Revelation. I also used to think miracles were events that happened which were contrary to nature. That is not so. Rather, in a miracle, one power of “nature” is trumped by another power of “nature.” (Nature is another way of saying God’s Laws governing His creation.) A number of Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek words are used in the Bible to refer to these acts of God. They are variously translated: “miracles”, “wonders”, “signs”, “mighty acts”, and “powers”. Over the next several weeks we will explore the amazing world of miracles! Don’t miss a single week! We are holding services at FBC Coronado!
